Lime plaster is a timeless wall finish known for its natural beauty, durability, and elegant appearance. Used for centuries in palaces, heritage buildings, mosques, and traditional architecture, this handcrafted finish creates a smooth, refined surface with a subtle natural sheen and a luxurious feel.
This technique involves the careful application of lime-based plaster blended with finely ground marble dust, resulting in a polished finish that resembles natural stone. The final surface offers a perfect balance of rustic charm and modern sophistication, making it suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Lime plaster is highly durable and long-lasting. It can withstand varying weather conditions and everyday wear while maintaining its natural appeal for years. Its breathable properties help regulate moisture levels, contributing to healthier indoor environments.
We manufacture and supply premium lime plaster products and also provide professional application services. Our experienced craftsmen ensure every project is completed with precision, attention to detail, and the highest quality standards.
Lime plaster is a natural and breathable wall finish made by combining high-quality lime putty with finely ground marble dust and other natural minerals. Unlike synthetic paints and cement-based coatings, lime plaster develops a rich, organic appearance that adds depth, texture, and character to any space.
Its breathable nature allows moisture to evaporate naturally from walls, reducing the risk of dampness and improving indoor air quality. This makes it an excellent choice for eco-conscious homeowners, architects, and designers seeking both beauty and performance.

Lime plaster is ideally applied on rough surfaces like brick or stone masonry. If the substrate is RCC, it must be scoured to roughen the surface. A spray of lime water and jaggery solution is used to enhance the bonding of the base plaster to the wall.

The foundation of Lime Plaster is the slaking of khadi chuna (limestone lime) for at least 2-3 days. This process ensures a reactive, smooth lime putty. The base plaster mix includes slaked lime, sand, jaggery water, and sometimes 5% cement for added strength.

The base coat is applied in 25mm layers, providing a textured base for the final coat. This coat is cured with water for 7 days and left to dry for 30 days before finishing.

The finishing layer consists of three coats:
1.The first: lime putty + marble dust (prepared using a mechanical chakki)
2.The second and third: fine lime putty paste with pigments (if desired), sealed with soap water
